In this installment of ALLURE DECOR’s Spring Blossom Giveaway Series Part 4: GET IN THE ZEN, I’ll be sharing tools to ground yourself, gain clarity, and create happiness through gratitude and simplicity with tips from some of the spiritual leaders I admire.
I’d say my most difficult daily challenge is turning down all of the constant noise to find that peaceful zone where I can relax, concentrate and think and just BE. I love Josh Pais’ “I’m Back” technique for bringing yourself back to being in the present moment when you become distracted or your mind starts wandering.
Josh Pais is an actor and creator of Committed Impulse, a high performance training workshop which is quite popular. He’s also the fiance of Marie Forleo, whom I spotlighted in the last post Spring Blossom Giveaway Series Part 3: Flourish Here’s a peek at Marie with Josh via her fun In Bed With Series:
It’s tough to stay present with so many distractions bombarding us isn’t it? I have found that adopting a yoga practice has helped me immensely with staying present. I started the year off at Elevate Yoga in Hazlet, NJ and look forward to each and every class I attend on a weekly basis. Love this studio and its community of kind, compassionate and inspiring people.
I’m a beginner and have tried a variety of classes with different instructors, who all bring their personal energy, style and flavor to the studio. But the one mantra that resonates with me is:
I AM (slow deep inhale), HERE NOW (slow deep exhale)…

It really brings my awareness front & center and can be used as a grounding tool outside class as well. It also forces me to breathe deeply instead of taking short hurried half breaths which creates anxiety. I’m living my yoga people!
I’m now taking a special Kundalini yoga series at Elevate which focuses on meditation & breathwork. Called “the yoga of awareness” it aims to cultivate spiritual truth while focusing on the compassion and consciousness needed to serve and heal others.
I’ve been inspired by Karena Virginia, a certified healer & master yoga instructor who I found on Facebook by accident. Karena teaches workshops at some of the most renowned yoga conferences and centers and encourages her students to connect with their truth through love, compassion, inner beauty and radiance and is widely known for her work in attracting miracles. I purchased her Relax & Attract App a while ago but will now share it with you for free as this week’s special giveaway:
Karena also has a DVD, Abundance & Miracles: Inspiration & Kundalini Yoga For Attracting the Life of Your Dreams
P.S. When I found out Karena was teaching classes locally at Monmouth Beach Yoga & Wellness in NJ I became excited, but then randomly bumping into her at a Red Bank, NJ boutique affirmed my belief that small miracles occur all around us everyday. I just signed up for Karena’s Summer Solstice Kundalini Yoga Workshop on June 17th at Monmouth Beach Yoga & Wellness. You can visit the Facebook events page here to sign up if you’re in the area and would like to join me!
