With beach season officially here, I’m looking to add a new suit to my collection. Unfortunately I’m not in the bikini club and that’s the way I like it! Too much pressure to keep the mid section buff and flat and after birthing two children I’ve found that sticking to my methods of disguise work rather well. It’s much more relaxing pool or beachside when you don’t have to worry about the unsightly muffin top emerging at inopportune moments!
My tried and true formula involves creating beautiful optical illusions that are stylish on any figure. Last year’s latest addition to the stable of magicians is this Vince Camuto belted number which I scored for a fraction of its original retail price at the Lord & Taylor Outlet store. Lucky for YOU, it’s still available!
It’s super slimming and the royal blue vertical snake print is elongating.
The same effect is achieved with the busy snake print pictured below that keeps your eye moving.
I paid full price for this one at Lord & Taylor: Hermanny Monaco Bandeau with a luxe stone buckle:
I had a hard time finding this exact suit still available but I did find it in a tankini style if you’re interested.
Another great optical diversion is ombre, especially with a jeweled neckline to take the eye upward
as with this Jantzen suit I scored at Marshalls:
One of my favorites is this Trina Turk multi swirl suit with flattering buckled keyhole bustline.
Marshalls again comes to my rescue:
(I was squealing actually, as I rarely have any luck in their clothing department.)
When avoiding tan lines, I usually don this classic white strapless Gottex maillot with textured design
and pair it with a sensational sarong like this wild tropical Roidal print:
I ADORE leopard and palm fronds so this is double bliss poolside!
I like the idea of a skirted suit so I was thrilled when I found these, also at Marshalls:
a Kenneth Cole Reaction zebra print with hot pink stitching:
And a black version of the suit with delicate mini ruffles along the bustline:
When I’m with my husband for an overnight stay in Atlantic City, NJ,
this baby comes along for some poolside sun at the Waterclub:
Its focal point is a ring that draws your eye to a plunging, OK, SUPER plunging bustline, so you can still be sexy while covering the muffin area. This Roidal suit is pricey but it’s my favorite and only comes out to play on special occasions sans enfants!
Another fabulous find at Marshalls includes this Jantzen turquoise link swim dress that I absolutely adore! I just add white swim bottoms underneath and have actually worn her in the pool. It’s a bit cumbersome for the ocean and best suited for lounging poolside with cocktails in hand, of course!
*If you’re looking to purchase any of the babies shown above, I’d suggest searching online for the most updated inventory and many of the brands I mentioned have so many more beautiful designs you might be interested in with similar eye catching and equally flattering styles!
And if you’re wondering why I am not pictured modeling these suits, well, I thought it would better for you to picture yourself wearing each of these types of alluring suits.
*Plus I’m quite pale (bleh!) and still need a little time to visit the salon for a you know what!
